Let's TAKE BACK LOCAL... Introducing "Discover Kiamichi Valley"

Connecting Our Communities... Be a Part of It!

From Clayton to Muse, Honobia to Le Flore, Talihina to Nashoba, and everywhere in between — Discover Kiamichi Valley is a new volunteer-driven initiative focused on connecting our communities, supporting local organizations, and helping residents stay informed about everything happening across the valley.

Our region is filled with hardworking people, amazing local events, small businesses, beautiful scenery, and stories worth sharing. But too often, important information gets buried by social media algorithms. Who does what service? Where do I go for xyz? What is there to do this weekend?

Did you know Facebook’s average organic reach has dropped from around 16% in 2012 to as low as 1–2% in 2025? That means most people never even see the posts local organizations and businesses work hard to create. Facebook does not provide long-term community visibility.

Because our communities deserve a better way to stay connected.

That’s why we launched Discover Kiamichi Valley in partnership with Locable — a FREE collaborative platform designed to bring together residents, visitors, businesses, churches, nonprofits, schools, organizations, and community events all in one place.

This is just the beginning. Future additions will include links to local government resources, school calendars, area history and culture, expanded tourism information, and more ways for communities and businesses to collaborate across the valley.

Think of it as a modern-day Digital Yellow Pages built specifically for the Kiamichi Valley — powered by local sponsors and community participation.
