We had an incredible time on our trip to Heaven's Gate. We are hikers, not riders, so we weren't sure if it would be a great fit for us but it really was. The trails out here are gorgeous and the folks are all real welcoming and friendly. Brigitte, our camp host, was more than accommodating and made the experience even more beautiful than it already was on its own. She makes breakfast on request and dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, all delicious (we missed Sunday brunch but heard great things about it). She even brought us her personal microwave from her own home when the one in our cabin sparked and stopped working. Brigitte is the kind of host that is so good to you that you wanna straighten up your cabin a little extra for them when you leave, just to help out a bit. This is a phenomenal place for all different kinds of people who crave getting out into nature. A great place for your dog, too- we brought ours and he was just elated the entire time. He loved it just about as much as we did. We will be returning in the summer!! Definitely worth the drive no matter where you're coming from!
