Your creative reset is calling. When are you coming?
I’ve been traveling to this beautiful part of Southeast Oklahoma my entire life to visit my grandparents, so when my family and I had the opportunity to move here permanently, we took the leap.
In June 2017, we built and opened River Bird Lodging as a destination for short-term vacationers. A year ago, however, we decided to transition our business to focus on hosting small group retreats.
For more than 25 years, I’ve attended craft and quilt retreats with friends, and they’ve always been some of the most memorable and joy-filled days — reconnecting with good friends, enjoying great food, and having uninterrupted time to immerse myself in the hobby I love most: quilting.
With that inspiration in mind, we created a large gathering space designed especially for creativity and connection. The space features individual tables, comfortable rolling chairs, task lighting, ironing and cutting stations, and design walls — everything needed for guests to settle in and create comfortably.
Our hope is that guests can bring their art or craft, gather with their creative tribe, and enjoy a few days to relax, recharge, laugh, and leave the cares of the world behind.
We are incredibly excited about this new adventure, and retreat bookings will open beginning June 2026.
